House of the Dragon: Has been renewed for a second season already, following the Game of Thrones spinoff’s premiere, which HBO said was the biggest audience for any new original series in the network’s history, according to Vulture.
Shia LaBeouf Says “I Quit”: Shia LaBeouf is accusing Olivia Wilde of lying about firing him from the set of her movie Don’t Worry Darling. In texts and emails between him and Wilde obtained by Variety, Shia LaBeouf asks Wilde to “correct the narrative” that he was fired: “You and I both know the reasons for my exit. I quit your film because your actors and I couldn’t find time to rehearse.” Our own Tim Molloy has more to the story here.

When Tom Cruise Was Mistaken For a Hippie: Yeah, that happened way back before the first Top Gun was released in 1986, our own Tim Molloy reports. The iconic actor wasn’t sure he wanted to do the movie, so he meet with some Navy pilots — but they were determined to get Cruise’s goat, believing him to be a “hippie” because he had a ponytail at the time. The Blue Angels took him up for a ride in the sky that was apparently so hardcore, Cruise agreed to do the movie on the spot.
Lilo & Stitch: The L.A. Times caught up with the kids from the Kamehameha Schools Children’s Chorus who sang “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride” and “He Mele No Lilo” on Disney’s original Lilo & Stitch soundtrack in honor of the 20-year anniversary of the beloved children’s movie’s release. Set in Hawaii, it follows the story of two orphaned sisters whose new puppy turns out to be an alien. This reporter had the soundtrack on CD as a kid and loved it. “Especially watching it now as an adult, you see the impact that it has,” said former Kamehameha student Paul Iona, who sang on the soundtrack. “It’s one of those films that you can gather so much at different times of your life. … It’s welcoming you into Hawaii as we would hope that people feel welcomed when they come to Hawaii. And I hope moviegoers were able to feel that, seeing that scene and then hearing our voices.”
Tár Teaser Trailer: Cate Blanchett plays a fictional, very passionate composer in Tár, Todd Field’s first time back in the director’s chair in 16 years since 2002’s Little Children. I know, I just did a double take, too — 2002 was 16 years ago? I pulled out a calculator and checked the math, and indeed, it is as we feared. Anyway, Tár is set to premiere at the Venice Film Festival and will be released in theaters on Oct. 7. Watch the teaser trailer below:
